Explore the different types of allergy tests available to identify your allergic triggers.
The skin prick test is a common and quick method used to identify immediate allergic reactions to various substances. During this test, small amounts of allergens are applied to your skin, usually on the forearm or back. The skin is then pricked with a tiny needle to allow the allergen to enter the skin. If you're allergic, you’ll develop a small, raised bump at the site of the test. We also offer additional testing via intradermal end-point titration, if indicated.
Allergy testing is a key part of understanding your body's immune response to various allergens and can help guide treatment and management plans. If you suffer from symptoms like sneezing, itching, skin rashes, or difficulty breathing, allergy testing can provide valuable insights into what might be triggering your reactions.
Some patients may not be eligible for skin testing based on past medical history and recent medication use. Other patients may have already had bloodwork done by another doctor (if so, great! Please bring your results). Few patients may have concern for allergens that we may not keep in stock. For any of these scenarios, allergy testing via blood is an option!
